Goalball is a Paralympic sport designed specifically for athletes with a visual impairment. Players compete in teams of three, throwing a ball that has bells embedded in it down the court to attempt to score a goal, while their opponents, using their bodies to defend the goal, try to stop the ball from scoring. Along with the growth and outreach that Go Green Winnetka is currently experiencing come additional communications opportunities. Our Communications Committee is currently seeking people to help with: Keeping our Google Calendar up-to-date with upcoming events Updating our website Graphic design Desktop Publishing Photography Press Releases Copywriting Bonus: We are flexible on timing. Most of our opportunities can be done in your own time. Our Communications Committee meets once a month on Zoom. Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in the 1800s? Do you like games and lively conversation? Are you interested in the history of the North Shore? If one or all of your answers to these questions are yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you! The Winnetka Historical Society is currently looking for volunteers to facilitate visitor experiences at the Schmidt-Burnham Log House on Sundays from 1:30-4:30, May 1 through November 20, 2022.
